By working directly with farmers, Kendamil pasteurizes the milk in their own factory (which runs on 100% renewable energy), wet blend it with essential vitamins and minerals, and spray dry it into a golden particulate powder. As opposed to buying milk powder, like most other formula companies out there, they themselves turn the EU-certified organic raw milk they collect into the powder used for formula, cutting out an unnecessary heat-treatment step that can denature the milk proteins inside! 

What is key, is they use the full cream of the milk, which contains MFGM (Milk Fat Globule Membrane) – a critical component within breast milk linked to improved cognitive development in infants. Many users report that it tastes phenomenal -- some mothers even state that they would drink it just because, which sounds perfect for a baby that is a picky eater! Plus you’ll never find palm oil, soy oil, or fish oil in their formulas as they use algal oil instead— making their products uniquely vegetarian-friendly. 

Kendamil Organic formula includes GOS, a milk-based prebiotic oligosaccharide. It is also the only organic formula in the world to contain Human Milk Oligosaccharides (HMOs). Inside Kendamil’s milk is naturally-occurring HMOs, as found in colostrum after birth, specifically 3’-GL,4’-GL and 6’-GL which each play important roles in infant immunity. For example, 3’ Galactosyllactose (3’-GL), one kind of HMO found in this blend, has been scientifically shown to play a role in the attenuation of inflammation in an infant's gut, by blocking pathogens from entering the bloodstream. 

Kendamil Organic Stage 1 First Infant Milk (from birth onwards) - 800g 

Stage 1 has a whey/casein ratio of 60/40 (the same ratio as found in breast milk!) and contains all the necessary fatty acids such as ALA, LA, ARA, and plant-based DHA, which are needed for growth and especially brain/eye development. Packed full of essential vitamins and minerals, Kendamil Organic Stage 1 also provides a natural fat source of Milk Fat Globule Membrane (or MFGM), as identified in breast milk and shown to improve infants’ cognitive development. Kendamil Organic Stage 1 is free of palm oil, fish oil, soy oil, maltodextrin and starch.  

Kendamil Organic Stage 2 Follow-on Milk (6-12 months) - 800g

Like HiPP, Kendamil formulas do not have any maltodextrin (or starch) in the higher stages. So for parents who start with Holle PRE and would like to continue with a whole milk based formula that has no maltodextrin (like Holle PRE does) then Kendamil Stage 2 is a great option with a 40/60 whey/casein ratio. Like Stage 1, Stage 2 is free of fish oil, soy oil, and palm oil. Stage 2 also is higher in calories and carbohydrate content than Stage 1 formula. It has slightly more iron to meet the higher iron demands of an infant once they turn 6 months old. We are pleased to now have an even more compatible formula to transition to for these parents. 

Kendamil Organic Stage 3 Toddler Milk (12+ months) - 800g

Stage 3, you can feel comforted knowing that your child will still get all the additional vitamins and nutrients of the full cream milk present in both Kendamil Organic Stage 1 and Stage 2. Stage 3 also contains plant-based DHA and HMOs to continue to build up your little one’s immune system. Stage 3 is considered a "weaning" formula meant to eventually compliment solid food. It has a bit fewer calories, fat, and protein content than Stages 1 and 2, but has more iron than Stage 2. And like Stage 1 and 2, Kendamil Organic Stage 3 is free of palm oil, fish oil, soy oil, maltodextrin and starch.
