About the Scholarship
Scholarship awards available for both College and High School Students
At Little Bundle, we never underestimate the challenges that come with being a parent -- especially when you’re raising a family by yourself.
We think it’s very important to recognize that being a single father comes with its own unique difficulties. Even though there are 2.5 million single dads in the United States (making up nearly a quarter of all single-parent households), single dads are often overlooked and underestimated. At Little Bundle, we know there are countless fathers doing an amazing job of shouldering all of the parenting responsibilities on their own. However, we also understand that the demands of single parenthood can make it very tough to focus on your own goals and aspirations.
That’s why we want to show our solidarity with single dads, the children of single dads, and those whose lives have been positively impacted by single dads. Our mission with the Little Bundle Superdad Scholarship is to recognize the single fathers who are doing their absolute best for their children, despite not always having the time or resources that they would like.
Focusing on education is a fantastic way for single dads to give their children the best possible start in life. In addition to supporting single dads who are pursuing their own higher education goals, the Little Bundle Superdad Scholarship also lends a hand to the high school and college-aged children of single dads, in recognition of the paternal love and support that helped them get to this point.
Not only does a bachelor’s degree translate to higher earnings over the course of one’s career, but it also serves to inspire the next generation by demonstrating that no matter the personal obstacles, it’s important to set goals and work hard to achieve them. We want single dads and their children to feel empowered by their achievements as a family, and be able to seize each and every opportunity that comes their way.
Our goal with the Little Bundle Superdad Scholarship is to make things a little easier for single dads and their loved ones. Similar to our Supermom Scholarship, twice a year, we’re giving one high school winner and one college winner help with tuition, in the form of a $1,000 high school award and a $2,000 college award. Each winner will also be entitled to a year of free organic baby formula from Little Bundle, which can be redeemed right away, deferred for later use, or donated to a friend or loved one.

How to Apply
We know that single dads have a lot on their plate -- from raising a family to pursuing education and a career, all while defying expectations and forging their own path.
In your application for the Little Bundle Superdad Scholarship, we want to know how you do it. We want to hear about the challenges you’ve faced while juggling fatherhood and education, how you make ends meet, and what motivates you to keep going and keep dreaming. We’d love to hear about your relationship with your children and why you think that education is important -- not only to your life, but to their future, as well. Tell us what makes life as a single dad rewarding, and what special moments have stuck with you during your parenting journey.
We’d also like to hear from applicants who are the child or loved one of a single father. What challenges did your dad have to overcome? Are there memories from your childhood in which your “superdad” inspired you, or taught you a valuable life lesson? We want to know how being raised by a single dad has impacted your life and your plans for the future.
Whether you’re a single father yourself, or the child or loved one of a single father, we especially want to hear about your dreams and goals. What do you hope to accomplish in terms of your education, career, and family life? What steps are you already taking to give yourself the best possible chance of success -- and how will this scholarship help you get there? We want you to think big and tell us where you see yourself in the future -- the sky’s the limit!

Little Bundle High School Scholarship Winner: Justin Farmer, Jr.
We are so pleased to announce Justin Farmer, Jr. as the winner of our January 2021 Little Bundle Superdad Scholarship in the high school category! Justin’s inspiration and motivation is his father, Justin, Sr. Justin’s father has faced multiple obstacles and hardships but has never lost his determination, devotion, and commitment to his sons -- which we believe makes him the epitome of a superdad!
Justin Jr. is an eloquent, hardworking teen in the ROTC with big dreams. He has been accepted to a whopping 11 colleges (so far!) and plans to major in visual arts with the intention to land a career as a concept artist for big movie studios — especially Marvel. Justin has always loved superheroes and comic books as well as had a passion to draw since he was three years old.
But as far as heroes go, Justin looks no further than his father Justin Sr., who is truly a Superdad. His father is a former college football player and even when Justin was younger, he drew him as the larger than life heroes you’d imagine seeing on the pages of those comic books he enjoyed.
“I would stand in his study in awe of the man I called dad. He had plaques all over the walls, certificates and trophies were stuffed in boxes, championship rings and medals were displayed on the credenza,” Justin remarked. “He was a smart, hardworking man who was actively involved in the church and in our community. I remember asking dad if he was the greatest man on the planet. He replied, ‘Great is relative. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.’”
Those words rang so very bittersweet for Justin’s family when their patriarch suffered several medical issues. Those conditions led to his father losing over 130 pounds and a series of strokes that resulted in a need for a motorized wheelchair. Justin and his younger brother help him with things but their father still cooks, checks their homework, researches cures for medical issues, and raises money for charities and foundations that assist persons with chronic ailments. All that in addition to teaching Sunday school and directing the laity of 9 churches.
“I would have never known how strong my dad really was until I watched his health decline and see him continually thank the Lord for the blessings within the calamity.” Justin Jr. told us.
Along with all the challenges, Justin said as a family they have learned how to do more with less – a lot less. With stretched finances, his dad allows them to be active participants in family economics. They prioritize, budget, save and sacrifice together and he said somehow his dad always finds a way. And Justin remains resilient in his goals. In fact he also applied to an honors scholarship related to the ROTC. If he receives it, he is committed to serving the required military time and it will pay for the schools he wants. He is eager to educate himself in not just art but also history, math, and science so he can always have something else to lean back on if plans change.
“Like my dad, I keep pushing myself to always do my best,” Justin said with confidence. “And even in adversity, or even with obstacles, I still try to keep moving and always do my best.”
Little Bundle College Scholarship Winner: Eric Hamilton
We are proud to announce Eric Hamilton as our January 2021 Little Bundle Superdad Scholarship winner in the college category! We are honored to celebrate the hard work and dedication of single dads who can often be overlooked for all that they do.
Eric will tell you he hasn’t always made the best choices in life but one thing he’s adamant about is being the best dad he can for his four-year-old son Charles. His father didn’t give him much of a role model — he was a drug addict and dealer. Eric’s older brother was more of a father to him and they had a connection with each other through wrestling, judo, and jujitsu. Eric even used to be a MMA instructor and his son loves going up to his brother’s gym.
With plenty of ups and downs, Eric has seen his share of significant transitions — a knee injury that prevented him from going into the Marines, debt, marriage, becoming a father, then divorce with split custody of his son. Regardless, doing better to provide for his son has been the biggest motivator for his successes. He currently has a 4.0 GPA while pursuing an Associate's Degree in Applied Technical Management with a Diploma in Welding and Joining Technology and owns a pressure-washing business. His goal is to eventually buy a home and own a fabrication company.
Eric was overjoyed telling us about the birth of his son. “That was probably the most proud and happiest moment of my life,” he said. “I watched my son walk for the first time. Even being able to watch my son when he potty-trained. He’s four years old now and I still make sure I’m always there. Everytime there is a first time, I always try to be there.”
Eric said the scholarship money will relieve a lot of his stresses and allow him to work less overtime so he can spend more time with his son. Between classes, tutoring, side jobs, and his small business, his time is limited, and he always wants to ensure he’s a present father.
“I am working very hard to be successful in school. I was not always the best student, but I want to do well through this program,” he said. “I am making efforts and putting in time I never did before for school. I am doing all of this because I want to be the best father I can be to Charles and show him that hard work and determination can help you accomplish anything.”
